TVCO chief Vincenzo Mosca is a former head of business affairs at Lux Vide and is taking its development projects to international partners with the aim of filling budget gaps. Lux Vide has previously worked on coproductions including TV films Coco Chanel, starring Shirley MacLaine, and miniseries Pope John Paul II, with Jon Voight.
“This is a trend that is happening everywhere” Mosca told C21. “Italy is a country that has so much history. We have so many stories to tell, so we are trying to attract interest from some great partners."
“It’s difficult but possible to find stories that resonate across the ocean and vice versa. That is what we have to do.”
TVCO’s distribution slate includes films God’s Country (1x90′) and Duns Scotus (1x82′), and it is representing US producer Triumphant Pictures. The fledging producer-distributor is also shopping Ainsi Soient-Ils (aka Churchmen), a new drama launched this month on French cultural network Arte. Its development projects include a TV adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, produced by Lux Vide and Germany’s Beta Film for Italian broadcaster Rai TV; historical feature Napoli 1907; and comedy film Ama La Vita.
