NO JOURNALISM WITHOUT FREEDOM
THE STORY OF PIPPO FAVA AND HIS REPORTERS
a docufiction written by Gualtiero Peirce and Antonio Roccuzzo, directed by Franza Di Rosa
with Francesco La Mantia, Karoline Comarella, Leo Gullotta

A group of young independent reporters led by Pippo Fava who was a great journalist, and an extraordinary intellectual. The Mafia murdered him for having stubbornly defended the right to tell the truth. Fava was also a mentor who chose to share his newspaper, The Sicilians, with a group of journalists in their twenties: “There is no journalism without freedom”, Fava used to repeat often.

The story of Pippo Fava and his kids is not only about one more mafia murder, but also a metaphor to fight for a better society through schooling, education and values of freedom and sharing. His story and the story of his young journalists is a passionate call to not give up and to build one's future on a responsible society.
