Synopsis

A modern day portrait of women in Italy who have made bold choices and have chosen to break societal norms in pursuit of their ideals and beliefs, specifically in the fight against the mafia. The first woman in Italy’s history to stand against the mafia at trial was Felicia Impastato. Becoming a symbol in her pacific determination to discover the truth and in her fight for justice. After her husband and activist son are assassinated by the local criminal families, victims of the bloody cultural system deeply rooted in Sicily, she decides to speak out. Instead of remaining quiet for her own safety and that of her other son, she revolts against all odds and gathers the evidence needed for a long and arduous battle against the assassins.

She breaks ties with anyone who tries to keep her from her fight for justice. As she said, “the mafia is not to be fought with a gun, but with culture”
