The Feminine Genius

A film by Antonio Di Domenico, Luigi Antonio Conte

What is the “feminine genius”? Does it have any sense today to talk about this? Why do all the popes from Paul VI to the present speak about it?

It was with the Second Vatican Council that the women question entered fully into the renewal process of the Church. It was 1965 when Paul VI, closing the works of the Second Vatican Council, addressed a message to women. For the first time an Ecumenical Council had addressed the question of equal dignity for women, committing itself to finding its theoretical foundations.

Cristina Carlostella, Sister Mary Melone, Lucetta Scaraffia, Marinella Perroni, Cristina Simonelli, Cettina Militello, Romilda Ferrauto, will guide us in our understanding of this issue.
