When Fr Tony Coote, a charismatic priest in Dublin’s Mount Merrion parish, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March 2018, he immediately committed himself to raising awareness and funds for sufferers by walking the length of Ireland. By the time the walk happened, however, in July, he had already lost the ability to walk. Undeterred, he put his health further at risk by covering the journey in a wheelchair and, in the process, became a pied piper, attracting a growing army of followers, who helped raise over twice his original target. In this inspirational film, Maurice O’Brien reveals the man behind that epic walk and the life and the faith that has shaped him.
