After her husband and activist son are assassinated by the local criminal families, victims of the bloody cultural system deeply rooted in Sicily, she decides to speak out. Instead of remaining quiet for her own safety and that of her other son, she revolts against all odds and gathers the evidence needed for a long and arduous battle against the assassins.
She breaks ties with anyone who tries to keep her from her fight for justice. As she said, “the mafia is not to be fought with a gun, but with culture”
