Pietro and his autistic son, Jacopo, are traveling to Puglia when their car breaks down in a small town. Rescued by Oliviero, a local mechanic, they find temporary shelter with Agata, who runs a bar that once served as a guesthouse. As the days pass, Gaia, Agata’s employee, grows close to Jacopo. Life in the town unfolds at a slow, suspended pace, as if everyone is waiting for something. But Pietro’s journey turns out to be an excuse and a dramatic turn of events changes everything.
