Haunted by a tragic past, Salvo, a Sicilian fisherman, returns to his hometown to sell the family home and finance a custody battle for his daughter. His plans are upended when he discovers Binta, an immigrant woman, and her young son living there, claiming legal rights. As tensions rise, an unexpected bond forms between Salvo and the Binta’s son,  leading Salvo to confront his guilt,  and seek redemption.
